Located in Belmont Heights, a quaint neighbor-hood in the south-east portion of the city of Long Beach, California, United States, bordering the Pacific Ocean and the more commercial community of Belmont Shore. It is primarily residential but has a mix of local businesses and entertainment within a short walking distance for most residents.  In the early 20th Century, Long Beach was a destination resort -- a place to escape the summer heat of Los Angeles.  Some homes in Belmont Heights and adjacent neighborhoods were originally built as summer cottages, but by the 1920s homes in Belmont Heights and nearby neighborhoods were built as permanent year 'round residences.
